Why We Love Martinsville Speedway
I’ve always had a soft spot for Martinsville Speedway — the oldest track on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule and one of the most exciting. Known as “The Paperclip” for its unique shape, Martinsville combines long straightaways with tight, narrow turns that keep drivers — and fans — on the edge of their seats all afternoon.
Despite being just 0.526 miles long, the action feels nonstop. It’s one of those classic short tracks where you can see the entire race from almost any seat, which is why it’s often voted one of the best tracks for viewing in NASCAR. The comfortable high-rise aluminum chairback seating doesn’t hurt either!
