Music City gave us another one to talk about. I hosted our RaceAway Hospitality group at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee, for the Cracker Barrel 400 on Sunday, May 31, 2026, and from the pre-race buzz to the late-night finish, this Nashville Superspeedway NASCAR weekend had a little bit of everything. Weather made us wait, but it sure did not take the spirit out of our group.
Getting Settled at Our Nashville Home Base
Our weekend started at the Embassy Suites Nashville Airport, which works so well for this trip because it gives guests room to spread out, enjoy breakfast, and meet up before we head east toward the speedway. RaceAway’s Nashville hotel partner is an all-suite property near the airport, with made-to-order breakfast, an evening reception, and easy access to Nashville’s dining and music scene.
About a third of our guests had traveled with RaceAway before, and I always love that mix. The returning folks help set the tone, and the new guests start to relax once they see how the weekend flows. Before long, the lobby conversations sounded like old friends catching up, even when some folks had just met.
Nashville Superspeedway sits about 30 miles from the Embassy Suites. As of the May 2026 itinerary, we planned for about a 60-minute drive with traffic, and our charter loaded in front of the hotel with guests asked to be ready 10 minutes before departure. That is the kind of detail I like to keep buttoned up, because race day is a whole lot more fun when nobody is guessing where to be or when to be there.
Rolling Out to Nashville Superspeedway
On Sunday, I met our group and helped get everybody pointed toward the charter bus. There is always that little race-day hum before we leave the hotel: folks checking tickets, comparing favorite drivers, packing scanners, and making sure they have what they need for a long day at the track.
As we headed toward Lebanon, I went over the basics one more time. As of our May 2026 itinerary, Nashville Superspeedway permitted one clutch or fanny pack no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches and one clear bag or backpack no larger than 18 by 18 by 4 inches, while unlimited unopened water bottles were allowed and coolers, loose ice, beer, and other alcohol were not permitted. Concessions and merchandise were cashless that weekend.
Nashville Superspeedway has a feel all its own. It is located in Lebanon, just east of downtown Nashville, and RaceAway describes it as a 1.33-mile concrete oval with long straightaways, progressive banking, and clear sightlines from the grandstands. Once our guests got inside, there was time to soak up the pre-race atmosphere, find seats, grab food or merchandise, and settle into that Tennessee race-day energy.
Weather Waiting, Late-Night Racing, and a Big Finish
The weather delays changed the rhythm of the day, but I was proud of how our group handled it. Nobody loves waiting out weather, but this group kept a good attitude. Folks visited, watched the track activity, asked questions, and made the best of the extra time together. That is one thing I have learned from hosting these trips: a good group can make even a delay feel like part of the story.
As of the May 2026 itinerary, driver introductions were scheduled for 5:35 PM and the Cracker Barrel 400 was scheduled for 6:00 PM, with the charter required to depart one hour after the race concluded. With the weather pushing the action late into the evening, I kept an eye on our guests and made sure questions were answered as the night unfolded.
When the racing finally got going, Nashville gave us a show. The track’s concrete surface and long runs make it easy to follow strategy, momentum, and who is getting better as the race goes on. By the end, Denny Hamlin held off his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe to win the Cracker Barrel 400 and earn his first Nashville victory. After the delays and the late night, that checkered flag felt mighty satisfying.
One of the best parts of the weekend came afterward, when Sandra K. sent us a note: “We had an awesome experience at Nashville. We had a few questions upon arrival and contacted Ashley. She was most helpful, even coming to our seats on Sunday with answers. I will certainly book with RaceAway again. Thanks again for making this a memory we won’t forget.”
That meant a lot to me. Sometimes hosting is answering the big questions, and sometimes it is walking to someone’s seats because that is where they need you. Either way, I want our guests to feel looked after.

Wrapping Up a Music City RaceAway Trip
By the time we got back from the speedway, everybody was tired in that good race-day way. It had been a long one, but it was also the kind of weekend people remember: good racing, patient guests, a smooth plan, and enough Music City energy to carry us through the delays.
At RaceAway, we have been hosting NASCAR race trips for more than 20 years, and Nashville reminded me again why the little things matter. The hotel, the ride, the timing, the questions, the seats, and the follow-through all shape the experience. This Nashville Cracker Barrel 400 weekend had plenty of moving parts, but our guests made it a joy to host.
