What a weekend in Vegas. Under the bright lights of the 2025 Las Vegas South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, I hosted our RaceAway Hospitality group for a sun-soaked NASCAR Playoff Sunday on October 12, 2025. This 1.5-mile tri-oval just north of the Strip is known for multi-groove, side-by-side racing, and it absolutely delivered. Denny Hamlin powered to his 60th career win, locked himself into the Championship finale, and our guests were right in the middle of the action from some fantastic seats as part of our Las Vegas Motor Speedway NASCAR packages.
Hosting Our RaceAway Group in the Entertainment Capital
I was on-site from Saturday evening through Monday morning, which gave me plenty of time to connect with guests at Park MGM and answer pre-race questions. Park MGM is a modern, smoke-free resort right in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, so guests could enjoy dining, gaming, and all the energy of the Strip throughout the weekend.
Sunday morning, I met everyone near the taxi and valet area outside the Park MGM lobby, where our private motorcoaches were waiting. With so many of our guests returning this year, it felt like half reunion and half first-time adventure. We checked tickets and made sure everyone knew the plan for the day. We pulled out right at 10:00 in the morning for the 17-mile ride to the track.
The drive out to Las Vegas Motor Speedway takes about 45 minutes with race-day traffic, so there was plenty of time for guests to relax, chat about their favorite drivers, and enjoy a beverage on the way. As we rode, I also reviewed track-entry guidelines so everyone would breeze through the gates. As of October 2025, no coolers were allowed, no alcohol could be brought in, clear bags were recommended, and each person could bring one unopened plastic, non-alcoholic drink.
International First-Timers and Familiar Faces
Once we arrived and made our way into the grandstands, the atmosphere really kicked in. Blue skies, warm desert sunshine, and that steady hum of engines and crowd noise that seems to build all afternoon. Vegas knows how to put on a show, and the South Point 400 is no exception.
One thing that really stood out to me this year was the mix of guests. We were thrilled to welcome several international race fans. Tom D. from the UK, Aurelie M. from France, and Hanspeter B. from Switzerland all chose RaceAway for their very first NASCAR experiences. It was fun to watch them take it all in, from pre-race ceremonies to the intensity of live pit stops just across the way in the Neon Garage area.
We also had some veteran RaceAway travelers back with us. Timothy S. made his sixth Las Vegas trip with us this year. He genuinely loves this track and this city, and he has his race-day routine down to a science. After the weekend, Art G. sent a note saying, “We had a nice experience with RaceAway and hope to utilize your services again.” He is already booked with us for Bristol in September 2026, which is about the best compliment we can get.
Race Day: Hamlin’s Drive and a Classic Vegas Finish
From our seats, guests had an excellent view of the tri-oval and the pack running multiple lanes through the progressively banked corners. The pre-race concert and driver introductions set the stage as the sun climbed higher, and by the time the field rolled off for the 2025 Las Vegas South Point 400, the grandstands were buzzing.
Once the green flag waved, the racing quickly settled into that classic Las Vegas pattern: long green-flag runs, cars fanned out across the track, and strategy starting to play out on pit road. As the laps clicked off, all eyes in our group kept finding their way back to Denny Hamlin. His car came alive as the afternoon went on, and his late-race drive to the front had everyone on their feet.
The closing laps were exactly what you hope for in a Playoff race: tight racing, pressure on the leaders, and a championship berth on the line. When Hamlin sealed the deal for his 60th career Cup win and punched his ticket to the Championship finale, our section erupted. Even guests who were not necessarily Hamlin fans could not help but appreciate the drive.
On the way back to the bus after the checkered flag, the conversations were non-stop. Guests debated strategy calls, compared photos and videos, and talked about what Hamlin’s win might mean for the title race. About an hour after the finish, our motorcoaches pulled out right on schedule, and before long we were back at Park MGM with the Strip lit up for another Vegas night.

Wrapping Up Another Vegas RaceAway Weekend
As we pulled back into Park MGM and guests headed off to dinner, shows, or simply some well-earned rest, I was reminded again how special this weekend always feels. Great racing, easy logistics, and a fun mix of familiar faces and first-time visitors from around the world made this South Point 400 one to remember.
If you are thinking about joining us for a future South Point 400 or exploring other NASCAR travel packages with RaceAway, I would be glad to welcome you on our next race weekend. We will take care of the planning so you can focus on the fun, the friends, and the checkered flag.
