What a way to finish a race weekend in Charlotte. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, our RaceAway group spent a beautiful day at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, for the Bank of America 400, where Chase Briscoe edged Christopher Bell by just 0.029 seconds at the finish. The weather was perfect, the group was having a great time, and it turned into exactly the kind of experience we hope guests remember when they travel with our Charlotte Motor Speedway NASCAR packages.
Catching Up With Friends and Welcoming First-Timers
I arrived in Charlotte Sunday morning ready to meet a fun mix of RaceAway travelers. We had returning guests catching up with old friends, first-time guests getting their first RaceAway experience, and birthdays to celebrate along the way.
That mix is one of my favorite parts of hosting a race weekend. Some guests already know each other from previous trips, while others meet for the first time in the hotel lobby or on the ride to the speedway. It doesn’t take long for everyone to have something in common once race day gets underway.
Our home base for the weekend was the Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte on South Tryon Street. According to our October 2026 itinerary, our private charter transportation departed the hotel at 10:30 Sunday morning for Charlotte Motor Speedway. The track is approximately 20 miles from the hotel, and we planned on about a 45-minute drive with race-day traffic.
Having the motorcoach handle the transportation gives guests a chance to relax and visit rather than worry about driving, parking, and navigating race traffic themselves.
A Great View for an Incredible Finish
For our October 2026 Charlotte package, our regular race seats were located on the 200 level between the start/finish line and Turn 1. Guests also had the option to upgrade to Club seating on the 500 level at the start/finish line.
Tori K. chose the Club seating upgrade, and it ended up being a great place to watch this particular race. She told us afterward, “The Charlotte race was so much fun, and what a finish! We loved the Club seating. The view of the track was great, and it was a comfortable spot to take in all the action. Seeing that close of a finish in person made the day even better! RaceAway made the whole weekend easy and enjoyable.”
It was especially fitting that our Club guests were positioned at the start/finish line for what happened at the end.
Chase Briscoe and Christopher Bell came to the line separated by only 0.029 seconds, with Briscoe getting the win. From that close to the finish line, our guests had a terrific perspective on a race that literally came down to inches.
Those are the moments you can’t plan for. We can organize the hotel, transportation, tickets, and upgrades, but sometimes the race itself delivers something that makes the entire weekend unforgettable.

- Birthdays celebrated with members of our RaceAway group.

- An optional Club seating upgrade on the 500 level at the start/finish line — an especially memorable vantage point for a 0.029-second finish.
I’ve hosted enough race weekends to know that the best trips usually come down to a combination of good people, smooth logistics, and a race that gives everyone something to talk about afterward. Charlotte delivered all three.
We enjoyed celebrating with our guests, seeing familiar faces again, welcoming first-timers, and watching one of those finishes that is even better when you experience it in person.
