Iowa Speedway track history
- Groundbreaking for Iowa Speedway was officially held on June 21, 2005.
- In 2007, the Speedway hosted its first IndyCar Series event (Iowa Corn Indy 250), with Dario Franchitti winning in a tight finish.
- NASCAR’s Xfinity Series and the Truck Series began racing at Iowa in 2009, expanding Iowa’s presence in stock car competition.
- Ownership changed hands in 2011 when the Manatt family sold their majority interest to the Clement family; NASCAR later purchased the track outright in November 2013.
- Joined the NASCAR Cup schedule in 2024
- After disruptions to racing during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Iowa Speedway resumed full event operations and in 2024 was added to the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, marking its first Cup-level event.

Can I buy the package without a hotel room or tickets?
Packages are typically available without tickets (hotel & transportation only) or without hotel room (tickets and transportation only) upon request.
When will I receive my tickets?
E-tickets for Iowa will be sent two to three weeks prior to the event. Related package information will also be sent in this timeframe.
What am I allowed to take into the track?
Iowa Speedway allows two bags per person. Bags can no larger than 18" at their largest dimension. Soft-sided coolers are allowed, but must be no larger than 14" at their largest dimension. Sealed water bottles are allowed. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
What happens if rain delays the racing?
In the event of a weather delay, the track will honor race tickets for the next day. RaceAway hosts will poll the group to determine track transportation needs for the next day and then reserve track transportation accordingly.
