Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, California

Track Length: 1.99 miles

"Infineon Raceway is the most unique of the tracks we visit. This 1,600-acre facility in "wine country" near Sonoma, California is 30-minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
I love to go to Infineon becuase the atmosphere is so much different from any of the other tracks we visit. Being a road course, this track hosts some of the most exciting NASCAR racing on the circuit. Infineon is hilly with more than 160 feet of elevation change, and there are turns everywhere. We get to see them turn right here!
The weather is always very beautiful with highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s. There is some walking to do here, and a few hills to navigate, but from where our buses park in the center of the track to the NASCAR merchandise trailers and our seats, we get around pretty easily.
At Infineon, we get closer to the track during the races than at any other facility. With so many turns - there are 12 of them here - you can pick a spot to watch the race for a while, then move to another spot and get a completely different perspective on the action. There is even a walking bridge between the bus lots and the grandstands where you can be above the cars as they are racing on the track!
We stay at an Embassy Suites in Walnut Creek, California which is seviced by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). BART makes stops at both San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) airports, so guests arriving by air may use either airport and get to the hotel easily via BART.
Infineon is one of my favorite places to visit. I'm looking forward to hosting this tour again in June of 2012!"
