The track that's "too tough to tame" was once a cotton field near Darlington, South Carolina. Darlington Raceway is a 1.25 mile egg-shaped race track that is considered legendary among NASCAR drivers. Each end of Darlington Raceway is configured differently, and the steep banks make for an excitng challenge for pit crews setting up their drivers' race cars, attempting to make them handle well at both ends of the race track.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Dodge Challenger 500 and the Nationwide Series Diamond Hill 200 run under the lights at Darlington each May in front of a crowd of 65,000 NASCAR fans!
